Questions about the provider, the methodology and the legal standing. Questions about reading the signal are answered in the knowledge section.
No. BoilingFrog observes, assesses and presents — it does not recommend. Using it expressly does not constitute investment advice, asset advice or financial analysis under the German WpIG, MiFID II or comparable rules. The decision remains yours.
Exclusively from public sources: FRED, the US Treasury, TIC/H.4.1, the ECB Data Portal, the EIA, ENTSO-E, market prices via yfinance and Stooq, plus 22 news feeds for political event detection. Every single source is listed on the data sources page.
From four layers with fixed weights: macro 35 %, politics 25 %, markets 25 %, energy 15 %, plus three overlays. Weights, thresholds and the aggregation formula are published in full on the methodology page — none of it is a trade secret.
The base version is free and shows the daily risk state. Premium costs 9.90 € per month and additionally shows where the signal comes from — dominant risk channel, sub-scores and trend analysis. The subscription can be cancelled at any time.
No — we ran it ourselves and published it in full, including the points that could not be tested cleanly. Six such limitations are named explicitly in the report. That is no substitute for an external audit, but it makes the basis verifiable.
No. We refer no brokers, receive no commissions and sell no securities. The only source of revenue is the Premium subscription. That is the precondition for a risk assessment to be neutral at all.
No registration is required for the free version. Which data a Premium subscription involves and how long it is stored is set out in the privacy policy.
